The Pitch
At a time when nightlife venues on Saint-Laurent Boulevard revolve on a monthly basis, the fun and casual SuWu Neighborhood Bar has actually defied the odds and survived almost a full year now. Not only that, but it is expanding its food offering by adding full courses to its existing bar food repertoire. Tonight we were invited to sample this new menu during an evening of cocktails, mingling and hip hop music.

The Food
Owners Zach and Nathan (a.k.a. SaintWoods) shed some light on the idea behind their new menu. They basically wanted to give patrons the option of a full meal to round up the bar/cocktail experience. There is a clear emphasis on light, yet comforting dishes such as tartars, fresh fish, salads and pasta.
Cobb Salad

The Verdict
With this new concept, SuWu has solidified its position as a happening, hip gastrobar/lounge. It won't be long before we come back, unannounced of course, for some drinks and possibly more…
