Rapido is the kind of place you only go to late at night after an evening of heavy drinking on Saint-Denis. This wasn't the case for us tonight, as we try it for the first time; we were just wondering "how bad can it be?"

The 24-hour junk food joint was all but dead at around 8:30PM; there was only one other occupied table. We're assuming things pick up later at night, but we didn't care to find out. The inside looks like a diner, as expected, which may have received a face lift not too long ago. Diners call for booths, but the ones at Rapido are pretty uncomfortable (not to mention that it was really hot inside).

The menu is a mishmash of cuisines and items from burgers and roast chicken, passing through souvlaki to pasta and pizza; not to forget the odd seafood dishes. We are always wary of such a diverse offering, but the bottom line is, it'll attempt to satisfy whatever craving you may have.
This is your average casse-croûte poutine. Decent fries, enough cheese with some Mozzarella added, and a mild gravy. Nothing special to talk about.
"Pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers, smoked meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions & special sauce". We want to start with something good about this sub, but there isn’t any. The smoked meat tasted borderline funky, there was too much lettuce, and, worst of all, the entire sandwich was drenched in Italian dressing.
"Grilled red peppers, mozzarella cheese & mayo. Served with salad & fries.". Decent fries again, standard ranch dressing, and a chicken breast a little on the dry side. We're not entirely sure what makes this burger "du plateau"; let's just say the platter is really filling.

The friendly waitress took our order and brought our food soon after. You don't expect any more or less at a place like this.
Rapido has been around for a while, so obviously it's doing something right. It'll always draw a crowd of hungry drunkards and night owls that are just looking to fill their bellies. From our perspective, the food was below average, even in cheap junk standards. We don't see why we would come back willingly.
